European research foundation
The NEUROCHIP project brings together advanced expertise in microfabrication, neuroscience and in vitro assay development to explore a new generation of Brain-on-Chip models.
Our Story
AxCellerate emerged from the EUROSTARS NEUROCHIP project, a research initiative focused on developing a novel Brain-on-Chip model to support drug development for neurological disorders.
The project brought together complementary expertise in precision glass microfabrication, micro-electrode arrays (MEA) and innovative in vitro assays, laying the foundation for a platform designed to culture, image and record the lectrophysiology of three-dimensional human-derived neuronal models.
Today, AxCellerate is translating this scientific foundation into B2B preclinical services for pharma, biotech, CROs and research institutions.
Milestones
AxCellerate emerged from the EUROSTARS NEUROCHIP project, a European research initiative focused on developing a novel Brain-on-Chip model for neurological drug development.
The company builds on the combined expertise of FEMTOPRINT SA, a Swiss high-tech company specialized in precision glass microfabrication, and NMI Natural and Medical Sciences Institute, a German research institute with strong experience in micro-electrodes arrays (MEA) and innovative vitro assays for life sciences.
This scientific foundation led to the development of an advanced platform that enables the culture, imaging and electrophysiological recording of three-dimensional human-derived neuronal organoids, offering valuable insights into neuronal activity and compound response.
The NEUROCHIP project brings together advanced expertise in microfabrication, neuroscience and in vitro assay development to explore a new generation of Brain-on-Chip models.
AxCellerate is incorporated in Canton Ticino, Switzerland, with the goal of bringing Brain-on-Chip innovation closer to the needs of preclinical neuroscience research.
The company strengthens its technological foundation around NEUROCHIP, a platform designed to support the culture, imaging and electrophysiological recording of three-dimensional human-derived neuronal models.
AxCellerate develops its B2B service model, focusing on preclinical research needs such as efficacy and safety testing, disease modelling and target validation.
AxCellerate works to become a scientific and technological partner for organizations seeking more predictive, human-relevant preclinical models in neuroscience..
